 Turn on The 'Lights #10

Welcome to Turn on The 'Lights #10, bringing you the news, views and updates that affect Starlights GFC and the wider community of Santry, Turnapin and Cloghran.

The news we've all been waiting for!

Last week the Government announced the return to training for juveniles commencing the week of 26th April. This obviously depends on the re-opening up of society and lifting of restrictions going to plan and the covid incidence rate remaining low.
So we still have to be careful out there for the safe opening up of GAA activities.

However, we are excited to announce that we are now in a position to plan for the return of non-contact juvenile training. See below for Little Stars Nursery and our Underage teams return  details.

Juvenile Training: (8 yrs +)

Juvenile Training will recommence for our underage teams on Thursday 29th April from 6:30pm until 7:30pm in our Collinstown Lane pitches. We cater for all age groups from 8 year old and above -  we have plenty of room in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines as there is a full size playing pitch, a juvenile playing pitch and three other training areas.
We are currently looking for new recruits to bolster our teams from U10 all the way up to U16 for both boys and girls. If you would like your kids to learn the basic skills of Gaelic Games in a controlled and friendly atmosphere, where the emphasis is on fun and development, why not bring them along on Thursday 29th, or any Thursday, where our fully qualified coach Mark, will be delighted to welcome you to the Club. Mark can also be contacted on 0894084553 for further information.

Little Stars Nursery: (4 to 7 year olds)

Our "Little Stars" Nursery will recommence on Saturday 1st May at 10am, until 11am, in our Collinstown Lane pitches. (yes, we know it's the bank holiday weekend: but where else will you be going?) Let's face it, this is probably as near to an airplane you'll get for a little while yet!

The Nursery caters for boys and girls aged 4 - 7 years old and is the perfect class for your little one to learn all the basic skills of GAA through fun team games. We have ample parking facilities where you can view the proceedings from the comfort of your car. (that's if you don't fancy the plane spotting).
If you require further information about the Nursery you can contact our Coach Mark on 0894084553 who will be delighted to welcome you to the Club and provide all the information.

G4MO Charity 5K run:

Our Gaelic for Mothers & Others team had a very successful charity 5K run last weekend in aid of the Daughters of Charity Child & Family Service.

We are delighted to announce that the girls have helped raise €670 to date for the charity.
It was great to see the girls log their runs and send in photos - all smiling and looking fresh of course, from places such as Navan and Duleek in Meath, Donaghmede, Portmarnock and Swords as well as Santry, Turnapin and around the Airport.

If you still wish to show your support for the girls and the charity we will be leaving the donations page open until next Fri 16th April.

Please donate at the following link: G4MO Gofund me link
